The Trouvaille Workshop Recap | Leslie-Alford Mims House, Holly Springs, North Carolina

If you've researched or attended a workshop then you know that not only is it a significant financial investment, but it's also time away from family and from your clients/business. It's often hard to justify attending a multiple day workshop, but with total confidence I can say that my time at The Trouvaille Workshop was completely worth the financial and time investment I made!

It's actually very difficult to recap in one blog post the four days in May that I spent at the Leslie-Alford Mims House in Holly Springs. From the moment I walked in the door I could feel the positive energy and Rhi and the Hey Gorgeous Events team were so welcoming, I knew I was meant to be there.

I'll add here that if you're at all nervous about attending Trouvaille 5.0, maybe because you don't know anyone else who is attending, don't be! Rhi and the HGE team work so hard to create an atmosphere that is encouraging and inspiring, you'll feel like you've been friends with everyone in the room instantly! As we walked into the Mims House we were gifted with hugs, huge smiles and the cutest box filled with North Carolina themed treats from Belle's Catering. How could you not feel special and loved on!

I could go on and on about the gorgeous venue that is the Mims House and how beautifully Rhi designed each day of Trouvaille, but instead I'll share images taken by the very talented team of Nancy, Callie and Olivia of Nancy Ray Photography

If I had to pick just one, I'd say that the second day of Trouvaille, the floral design day, was my favorite! At breakfast we were greeted with a beautiful basket of floral supplies from Marigold & Grey, filled with just what we needed for a day of fun with flowers. The lovely Emily and Lisa of Southern Weddings Magazine joined us and shared about the SW mission and brand as well as submitting weddings for publication. It was great to see and hear both of them!

Picking flowers from the "bloom room" was so much fun, all of the products were unique and so beautiful! It was great to spend time chatting with everyone as we worked on our bouquets and centerpieces while receiving tips and suggestions from Steve and Rhi. Once we finished our arrangements we spent some time with Nancy Ray as she captured our bouquets with gorgeous models and our centerpieces on styled tablescapes. The Trouvaille sponsors did not disappoint with beautiful dresses, jewelry, furniture, linens, etc. for us to use as we styled our flowers.

Day three could not have started off any better, my friend Randi of Sugar Euphoria taught us a cupcake decorating class! Not only was it delicious, but I've stepped up my cupcake frosting game a little thanks to Randi! If you're in the Raleigh area, you're in luck, check our Randi's shop!

Now that we were on a sugar high it was time to dig into some serious business as we learned from Michelle Loretta of Sage Wedding Pros and Heather Crabtree. These two ladies tell it how it is and they are both so willing to educate and empower other entrepreneurs. Lara Casey also spent some time with us on the third day. I always have a hard time putting into words what it's like to hear Lara speak, so instead I'll suggest you read her book. It's completely worth your time and it will change your life in so many ways!

I'll be honest here and say that although I love flowers, actually putting together bouquets and centerpieces is not my forte. I'll leave that to the pros! Despite the fact that I'll never be a florist, I really did love learning from Steve of Sinclair & Moore and of course from Rhi. Since flowers play such an important role in the design of an event it was fascinating to learn how they select their flowers, incorporate each piece into their design plan and their techniques to assemble the arrangements.

Although our farewell dinner was on the third night, we spent a little more time together on the morning of the fourth day as everyone had their hair and makeup done by the talented LULA Hair & Makeup and then Nancy was once again on hand to take headshots for all of us. When we received the images from Nancy after Trouvaille my favorite part was scrolling through the headshots and thinking about the memories I made with each any every person in attendance!

I can't thank Rhi and the HGE team enough for spending their time and giving their hearts to Trouvaille 4.0, it was truly what I needed at that time in my life, both personally and professionally!
